Physical Therapist Bilingual Spanish - Geriatrics

Position Summary

As a Physical Therapist, you will be an essential member of our integrated healthcare team, responsible for providing patient-centered physical therapy services and movement programs to enhance the quality and affordability of care. Your primary focus will be on optimizing movement and function to improve clinical outcomes, recover from injury, manage pain, and increase patient and provider satisfaction. Essential responsibilities consist of but are not all inclusive: 

 

Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough evaluations of patients using clinical observation and standardized testing to identify physical therapy needs. 
  • Developing individualized, evidence-based care plans to improve overall function and participation in daily life.
  • Providing patient-centered education to improve movement and physical activity for prevention and treatment. 
  • Utilizing technology to provide additional support and resources to patients and their caregivers.
  • Ensuring proper use of equipment and instruction of patients and caregivers on safe handling to promote optimal function and recovery. 
  • Supervising and offering direction to PTAs and PT interns. 
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams, patients, and/or caregivers to identify and develop patient-specific therapy goals.
  • Ensuring patients have a positive experience by providing an elevated level of service promptly, professionally, and empathetically. 
  • Assisting in the development and presentation of educational materials for patients and providers. 
  • Participating in quality improvement programs and initiatives driven by clinical needs. 
  • Leading fall prevention classes and completing fall risk screenings for patients.
  • Understanding clinical programs, identifying practice opportunities, and integrating programs and resources into practice workflows to optimize the patient experience, improve quality of care, and positively impact resource utilization. 
  • Other duties assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 3+ years of physical therapist experience.
  • Geriatric specific experience preferred. 
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
  • Advanced Microsoft office platforms including word, excel, and powerpoint.  

  

Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements

  • DPT Degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy-based program.
  • Active license by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, or the ability to obtain one. 
  • Current BLS Certification.
