Bi-Lingual Surgery Scheduler- HIRING ASAP

Long Beach, California

Hours: 8am-5pm Mon-Fri

Position Summary:

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures, ensuring accuracy in documentation, insurance verification, and effective communication with patients, providers, and surgical teams. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing excellent patient service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule surgical procedures and pre-operative appointments based on physician availability, patient needs, and facility requirements.

  • Verify insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and ensure all required documentation is completed before surgery.

  • Communicate pre-operative instructions to patients, including fasting guidelines, medication adjustments, and arrival times.

  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other medical professionals to confirm surgical details.

  • Maintain accurate records in electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.

  • Handle surgery rescheduling and cancellations, ensuring timely updates to all involved parties.

  • Assist patients with financial counseling by providing cost estimates and discussing payment options when necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare privacy policies.

  • Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and resolve any issues that may impact surgical timelines.

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns professionally and empathetically.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or certification in healthcare administration preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in medical scheduling, patient coordination, or a related healthcare role.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical procedures, and insurance authorization processes.

  • Proficiency in EHR systems, scheduling software, and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and healthcare teams.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to handle confidential patient information with professionalism and discretion.
