ER Director of Nursing Needed
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Director of Nursing for our Emergency Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency care, demonstrating the ability to manage critical situations with composure and efficiency. This role requires excellent documentation review skills, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology. The DON will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring adherence to resident rights and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room setting.
Manage patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history.
Conduct documentation review to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Supervise nursing staff and coordinate care plans for patients.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
Stay updated on best practices in emergency care, including hospice care and assisted living protocols.
Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Proven experience in an emergency room or critical care setting as a Director of Nursing.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise nursing staff teams effectively in emergency medicine.
Proficient in medical terminology and documentation practices.
Knowledge of Medicare regulations and resident rights is highly desirable.
Experience in home care or hospice care settings is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Ability to manage stressful situations while maintaining professionalism.
