The External Marketer is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources to generate appropriate referrals and drive census growth for the Skilled Nursing Facility. This role requires a results-driven individual who thrives on building rapport, identifying referral opportunities, and representing the facility in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
Develop and execute a marketing and outreach plan to increase census and maintain a strong referral pipeline.
Actively market the SNF to external referral sources including hospitals, physicians, assisted living facilities, and community partners.
Maintain frequent face-to-face contact with discharge planners, case managers, social workers, and healthcare providers to promote services.
Educate referral sources on facility capabilities, services, and admissions process.
Serve as a liaison between referral sources and the admissions team to ensure a smooth transition for incoming residents.
Analyze market trends, referral patterns, and competitive data to identify growth opportunities.
Attend healthcare networking events, conferences, and community outreach programs to increase visibility.
Track and report referral activity, conversion rates, and outcomes regularly.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory requirements during marketing activities.
Collaborate with internal interdisciplinary team to ensure high satisfaction and retention of referred residents.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare marketing, preferably in skilled nursing or post-acute care.
Proven track record of referral development and census growth.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care insurance plans.
Ability to travel locally on a regular basis and work flexible hours, as needed.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
