The Regional Director of Rehabilitation (RDOR) provides strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and operational guidance for therapy departments across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) within a designated region. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective rehab services while promoting clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
Provide leadership and direction to Directors of Rehab (DORs) at each facility within the region.
Oversee daily therapy operations across multiple SNFs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies and regulations.
Monitor and analyze therapy performance metrics (productivity, RUGs/PDPM accuracy, length of stay, outcomes, etc.) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, and caseload management to support resident care and financial targets.
Drive clinical excellence through staff development, mentorship, and best practice implementation.
Partner with facility administrators and interdisciplinary teams to support census growth and maximize therapy’s contribution to outcomes.
Participate in survey preparation and support facilities during state/federal inspections as it relates to therapy.
Collaborate with compliance, billing, and reimbursement teams to ensure accurate documentation, billing practices, and regulatory compliance.
Conduct regular site visits to audit programs, coach DORs, and evaluate staff performance.
Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of qualified rehab professionals across the region.
Lead meetings with therapy leaders to ensure consistency, communication, and alignment with company goals.
Licensed Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in long-term care or skilled nursing rehab settings.
Multi-site management experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of Medicare, PDPM, managed care, and SNF regulatory environment.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve clinical outcomes, and manage financial performance.
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.
