This
Internal Auditor position is a perm career opportunity working for a well respected and reputable Health Benefit Provider in Glendale CA. Responsible for adhering to the Internal Program including auditing, billing and collecting and ensuring Employer Compliance.
We prefer to hire someone that has General knowledge of Entertainment Industry Minimum Basic Agreements and Trust Agreements.
- Review incoming inquiries for reportable earnings including initial compensation, weekly salaries, residuals, bonuses and other potentially earnings. Review contracts and payments, dues declarations.
- Perform in depth analysis including applying reporting rules per the Trust Agreements.
- Create an electronic audit file for each assigned internal audit. Prepare billing letter with appropriate interest and project profile F-Schedule. Maintain audit files throughout the duration of the audit collection including all employer and participant correspondences.
- Bill employers for audit findings, interest and other fees. Pursue collection by phone and email to collect all outstanding amounts due. Prepare collected audit claims for release and application.
- Pull contracts, dues statements, credits, residual runs and other pertinent information as needed for audit and research purposes.
- Review records for over reported earnings, non-reportable earnings not subject or misreported earnings. Interface with employers, payroll companies to obtain pertinent data to correct misreported records.
- Process earnings adjustments, refunds and quarter switches as assigned.
- Collect benefit information due to Employer overpayments and misreporting. Bill Employers for erroneously used health and/or pension benefits paid. Offset benefits paybacks against employer refunds as applicable.
Prepare delinquent audit files for referral as directed. Refer potential compensation claims as directed.
- Process the monthly Internal Program Report & Recap Report.
- Create work reports for contributions received from the settlements and arbitrations. Credit uncollectible earnings based on settlements and arbitrations as directed.
- Answer members phone inquiries and provide accurate information regarding the reporting of contributions, reporting rules, when contributions are due and delinquencies. Advise members of the documentation required in order open an audit claim. Phone inquiries include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate whether compensation is subject to contributions or not
- Determine if the ceiling has been reached for a project
- Discuss ceilings for various types of projects and covered work including but not limited to theatricals, television and New Media
- Residuals
- Ownership companies
- Provide excellent customer service through phone and email correspondence to Members and Employers at all times and promote the company culture.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-5 years of entertainment industry experience required in at least 3 of the following areas: payroll processing, contract administration, contribution reporting, client relations, collections, finance and accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent written and oral communications and organizational skills
- Must possess keen attention to detail and analytic skills
- General knowledge of Entertainment Industry Minimum Basic Agreement and Trust Agreements.
- Proven ability to deal effectively with people.
- Must be able to work under pressure, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
