Duties
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care plans focused on residents’ nutritional needs and health goals
- Supervise dietary department staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to ensure excellent service delivery
- Conduct patient assessments to determine dietary requirements, including special needs such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation considerations
- Oversee meal planning and preparation to meet nutritional standards while accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences
- Manage dietary department budgets, inventory control, and procurement processes to ensure cost-effective operations
- Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety standards, and facility policies related to food service and resident care
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to integrate nutrition strategies into overall care plans and support residents’ health coaching initiatives
Experience
- Proven management experience within a dietary or food service department in assisted living or healthcare settings
- Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, dietetics principles, and care plan development
- Experience in supervising staff, managing budgets, and coordinating dietary services efficiently
- Familiarity with patient assessment techniques, tube feeding procedures, and diagnostic evaluation processes
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment
- Knowledge of regulations governing dietary services in healthcare or assisted living facilities
- Prior experience with care planning, health coaching, and implementing specialized diets is highly desirable
