Retail Facilities Manager – Kansas City, MO
Responsible for ensuring high‑quality operation of all assigned retail properties.
Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, grounds, and common areas across assigned retail properties.
Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal system performance, safety, and code compliance.
Select, negotiate, and manage contracts for common area maintenance services.
Coordinate and oversee vendor activities for routine maintenance, capital projects, renovations, and construction work.
Develop and manage the facilities operating budget, along with capital improvement planning and long‑term asset needs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for tenant service requests.
Apply working knowledge of NNN leases to identify areas of responsibility.
Conduct tenant move-in and move-out procedures per company protocol.
5+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or related field.
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety).
Experience managing vendors, budgets, and maintenance teams.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and compliance documents.
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Consistently acts with transparency and accountability
Position requires regular vehicle travel between assets, and light travel to out-of-town assets
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred)
Certifications such as
CFM
or
FMP
(preferred)
Experience with MS Office and Yardi Systems
