Overview

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team at our skilled nursing facility. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) with strong hands-on leadership experience.

As DON, you’ll play an essential role in supporting the Administrator, leading clinical teams, ensuring high standards of resident care, and helping cultivate a positive, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Administrator in managing day‑to‑day clinical operations.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.
  • Oversee compliance with state and federal regulations, facility policies, and best clinical practices.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and monitoring labor needs.
  • Participate in quality assurance, care plan development, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation and reporting.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and resident-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in Tennessee.
  • Previous leadership experience in a LONG TERM CARE setting REQUIRED — Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, MDS Coordinator, Staff Development Coordinator, Nurse Educator or Administrator.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (CMS, state regulations, survey processes).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and clinical assessment skills.
