Maintenance Director (nursing home)
A skilled nursing facility in the Little Village area of Chicago is seeking an experienced Maintenance Director to oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and physical plant operations of the facility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, dependable maintenance professional who understands the unique operational and regulatory requirements of a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and physical plant operations for the facility.
Ensure the building, grounds, equipment, utilities, and mechanical systems are properly maintained.
Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program.
Respond promptly to maintenance issues and emergencies.
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, and work orders.
Ensure the facility remains compliant with applicable healthcare, life-safety, fire, building, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.
Prepare the facility for regulatory surveys and inspections and address identified deficiencies.
Monitor and maintain fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency power, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other critical systems.
Experience Required
3+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, nursing home, hospital, assisted living, senior living, or other healthcare environment.
Previous experience working with building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general facility repairs.
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance and life-safety requirements.
