Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage outstanding patient and insurance balances.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims with insurance companies and patients.
• Resolve billing discrepancies, claim denials, and appeals in a timely manner.
• Process patient payments, set up payment plans, and discuss financial options.
• Research and verify insurance coverage, claim status, and eligibility for reimbursement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of collection efforts and account resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations.
• Collaborate with the billing team to optimize revenue recovery efforts.
• Generate reports on collections activity, outstanding balances, and aging accounts.
• Communicate with patients professionally regarding their financial responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in healthcare administration or a related field preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in medical collections, accounts receivable, or revenue cycle management.
• Knowledge of medical billing, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and insurance claims processing.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
